Queensland is a state of many firsts for Sympli. Our first onboarded practitioner and first transaction took place in 2018. Soon followed by our first financial settlement transaction on the Gold Coast in 2019.
As we continue our roll-out, we’re working very closely with some truly passionate clients who are dedicated to inspiring change in the industry. Alex Kyriakides of Atlas Lawyers is one such client, who’s leading the charge in Queensland.
We spoke to Alex about why he decided to get involved in the Early Onboarding Program, and what it means for the industry:
Soon after moving to Australia I started my own law firm with a heavy emphasis on conveyancing. I was looking for any and every edge I could, to help my firm achieve the goal of providing quality legal service while avoiding unnecessary tasks that caused delay and frustration.
When I discovered e-conveyancing, I knew I had to get involved. It struck me as something that would be of great benefit to the industry and most importantly to the actual buyers and sellers involved in the process.
As practitioners, I believe our paramount concern should be to do everything possible to help our clients. To do this effectively, we must get over our fear of change and the unknown and embrace new technology. From personal experience, I can say that after moving to e-settlements, everything is generally less work, and more importantly, less stress. It’s saved me a great deal of time.
Though the uptake of e-conveyancing in Queensland could be considered slow, my firm is motivated to cause the disruption needed in the industry, to get this incredibly efficient tool out to the public. I think it’s important the industry has competition between e-settlement provider. Greater options can only lead to a better overall service and experience for our clients in an industry that is rapidly evolving.
I would encourage any Queensland practitioner to use this time as an opportunity to embrace e-settlements and to try Sympli.
